I have fished the river for years and highly recommend going out of rivers edge resort at that time. the smallmouths and walleyes are usually great trolling in 8-12 fow from mem day to fathers day they may be shallower but not much deeper. you can rent a boat there and have about 2.5 miles of fishable river.
