Onalaska is great in the fall for crappie as well as first ice. never been there in the spring but I imagine it would be great. Onalaska is the panfish captial of the world, there are monster crappie, bluegill, perch. There is everything else in there too. Some other spots to try are the Black River, and the Miss. River near the dams.
