Try dried bread with quaker oats, corn meal and canned corn. I grind it up in an oster. I usually add just enough corn to have it bind, but not too much. It is used as chum as it dissapates in the water and releases a nice scent to attract the fish. I use corn(usually on a size 16 hook) for bait.
For Catfish, try chicken liver ground up with dried bread. Very simple to make and I caught Catfish & Carp chumming with it. Try worms for the catfish or corn(or spikes) for Carp.
Try searching for Carp on the internet and you'll end with with 100's of sites, most listing Carp bait.
