Nuwwave; Hit the search block on top of page. Search for power pro or fireline. Author chuck. All the info you need is there. Hope that helps.

So far my favorite is the SpiderWire Stealth. First and foremost i love the strength to diameter ratio. Do I believe their 10 pound test is TRUELY a 2 lb test diameter... ehh seems thicker than 2lb mono. LOVE the Zero line memory. Zero strech means much easier hooksets. I find the stealth is the limpest of the superbraids, out of the box. After a few casts though the Power Pro is pretty close though.

My favorite true braid is McCoy Mean Green for baitcasters. I also use Fireline on baitcasters as well. I have used Powerpro and Spiderwire but I prefer the rigidity of the McCoy over the Spiderwire. The Spiderwire seems to cause backlashes more often than the McCoy because of its limpness. I do not think that the Fireline and Powerpro are pure braids. They do not seem too last as long as the McCoy or the Spiderwire. I use Fireline, Powerpro and Spiderwire for spincast. Since I have not used up my supply of these three I have not tried the McCoy. Of the three the Spiderwire is the most durable. They all seem to cast fine regardless of which one is limp or rigid. I also use Floroclear on spincast for clear water conditions. The flourocarbon coating does seem to make it much more durable than regular mono.

I like Fireline because its seems to last the longest. I have tried a couple others like Gorilla line and Spiderwire and they seem to fray much more quickly. Still any braid is better than mono!

I second the mention of Stealth. Very good in almost all situations, last time I used it was for surf fishing on the east coast, caught a ton of croakers, a few blues, a stripper, and a small shark.
Not all the spiderwire braids are good, I got the fusion, and hate it. I do have to say the stuff nearly disapears once it hits the water. Oh yeah do not thumb the reel or set the hook while touching the line, if that were the case you will feel the burn.

Joe I checked my rod after a long and productive salmon season with #30 power pro and the guides are still perfect snd I only broke off 1 fish with the line, I just put some #15 on my calais for bass'n this spring so we will see. I landed 1 yesterday on a 3 inch yum wooly grub. you feel everything it bounces off of.

I'll throw a bone out there for Fireline. I love the no stretch and with the 6 lb. (2lb. diameter) I can land just about anything that swims.

I used #10 Fireline on spinning reels and #20 Power Pro on baitcasters for the first time last year and liked them both. I have none of the mono problems with these lines.

Larry, is there any evidence that they reduce your catch rate?. Signed, Old School.

Superlines will eat up non ceramic guides in a hurry.
Did not like power pro for the weight I cast. It appears huge in spite of claims and has too much wind resistance at less than 1/32 oz.

I'm with ya there Choup.
I did use powerpro last year on my trip to Angler's Kingdom and The Little King swears by it.
I'm old school though and just can't spend the dough when mono has served so well.
Then again there's Wallidave that uses this bright yellow line so he can see it icon_razz.gif
Catches as many if not more than I do icon_confused.gif

Signed, Old School too.
